Bogoljub Marković, one of the top prospects in Serbia, is a promising big man who played a significant role in Serbia's 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship squad after an impressive showing at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup. At 6’11”, Marković is fluid, mobile, and coordinated for his size which allows him to run the floor effectively in transition and defend all over the floor. He shows promise as a distributor and ball mover, capable of whipping live dribble bounce passes in transition, throwing pin point outlet passes and finding teammates from the low or high post. Despite his thin frame, he’s unafraid of contact and looks to score in the paint where he shows solid footwork using spins, drop steps and soft touch finishes around the rim. Marković has upside as a mid-post scorer, also showing flashes of ball-handling ability in space, capable of putting the ball on the floor to attack closeouts and using Eurosteps to avoid defenders.
Marković is also a rebound and run threat, often turning rebounds into transition opportunities. Defensively, he has significant upside, being a versatile defender who averaged 1 block and 1 steal at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championships. He is a double-double threat who crashes the offensive glass and consistently draws fouls with his activity.
However, Marković tends to settle for too many three-pointers, is still learning how to use his body effectively and lacks vertical pop off one foot. His free-throw shooting is inconsistent, and he needs to bulk up to handle the physicality at higher levels. Despite these concerns, Marković's combination of size, skill, and defensive potential makes him a high major and NBA prospect with a bright future ahead.
