Egor Demin is a versatile wing with NBA-level positional size and the ability to handle the ball and play as both a primary and secondary playmaker. At 6'8", he’s a fluid athlete shoot it from deep or make plays at the rim.
Demin shows promise as a shooter with an effortless stroke, comfortable shooting both off the dribble or on the move, including coming off screens. He plays at his own pace, and off the ball he shows a strong understanding of spacing, often moving off the ball intelligently and making timely backdoor cuts.
Around the rim, he’s an efficient finisher and converted 63% of his attempts in the paint over 9 Adidas Next Generation Tournament games. His combination of size, high basketball IQ and ability to make quick decisions and high-level reads is adds to his long term appeal. He’s particularly effective in pick-and-roll situations, using his height to see over defenses and deliver cross-court skip passes to open shooters.
He shows flashes of wiggle and creativity off the dribble, and at the minimum, projects as a capable dribble, pass, and shoot wing. But the flashes indicate he has the upside to be an effective on-ball playmaker.
However, there are areas where Demin needs to improve. He’s a streaky shooter, and his jumper was inconsistent during the 2024 Adidas Next Generation Tournament, where he struggled from the field.
Additionally, he can be turnover-prone, which will need to be addressed as he develops. If he can improve his shooting consistency and decision-making, Demin has the tools to be a valuable asset at the next level.
